Faluda Recipe: Ingredients
- 1 tbsp sweet basil seeds
- 1/4 cup rose syrup
- 1/2 cup falooda sev (vermicelli made from corn starch or arrowroot flour, or you can use thin whole wheat vermicelli or rice vermicelli)
- Jelly (optional, choose any fruity flavour like strawberry, raspberry, orange, or mango)
- 2 cups milk (dairy or vegan)
- 1/2 cup mixed nuts (glazed cherries, tutty fruity, cashews, almonds, and pistachios)
- 4 scoops ice cream (vanilla, mango, orange, pistachio, butterscotch, or chocolate)
Falooda Recipe: Instructions
- Soak the sweet basil seeds in water for 20 to 30 minutes. Drain the excess water and set aside.
- Cook the falooda sev according to package instructions. Strain, rinse, and let cool to room temperature.
- Chop the mixed nuts into small pieces.
- In each of the four tall serving glasses, pour 1.5 to 2 teaspoons of rose syrup.
- Add two tablespoons of soaked sweet basil seeds and 2 to 3 tablespoons of falooda sev.
- Add some cubes or chunks of jelly if desired.
- Slowly pour about 1/2 cup of chilled milk into each glass, ensuring the milk does not mix with the rose syrup or sweet basil seeds.
- Add a scoop of ice cream on top of each glass.
